Real Techniques Starter Kit: Review ♡

12/12/2015 08:59:00 pm

Hey everyone,

So today I thought that I would post a review on some new brushes I recently bought in the Black Friday sales. These brushes at superdrug were reduced from £21 to £13.99 so I obviously bought them. These brushes are the Real Techniques Starter Kit which is the eye brushes. The purple brushes if you recognise them from their colours. I already have bought the core collection but I completely forgot to do a review on them but oh well. The core collection is the 'yellowy', gold colour.

So this is how the brushes were packaged when they first came. The brushes also do come with a 2-in-1 case and stand which is great for when you take your brushes on the go as they do protect your brushes very well. The whole set comes with 5 brushes which is actually really good for the price as they are very high quality brushes. The texture of the brushes are very, very soft and they aren't rough on the skin at all.

As you can see from these pictures ^ they are very soft. The deluxe crease, base shadow, accent and liner brush are very fluffy and soft but the brow brush is a little rougher than the others. Not gonna lie but I actually prefer the brow brush being a little rough.

This is the deluxe crease brush which is one of my personal faves, alongside the base shadow brush. The brush is so soft and distributes the product very well. Product doesn't stay in the brush and it is not the type of brush that picks up product but can't actually place it onto your skin which is very annoying. The brush itself is big but then again it is called the 'deluxe' crease brush. However, I still do love the brush very much.

Next, is the base shadow brush. The brush is a little dirty as I actually did use it before taking the pictures which I shouldn't have done but it doesn't matter now. This brush is sooooo good! It is so much better than my 17 eye shadow brush which is a flat brush to pack on eyeshadow. I still am going to be using my 17 eye shadow brush as I feel like that brush is a lot better at applying shimmery eye shadows. This brush, again is very fluffy and soft.

Now this is the accent brush. This brush is perfect to apply eye shadow on your bottom lash line to blend the whole look together. This brush yet again is soft. I need to find another word to describe the brushes instead of soft!!!

This brush is the liner brush. This brush is basically meant to be used with gel eyeliner but I'm sure you can use it with eye shadow anyway. I don't own a gel eyeliner so I am not too sure how good it is at gel eyeliner but I am pretty sure it is good at applying it.

Last but not least is the brow brush. I, again have not yet used this brush and I also apologise for the camera quality. I am not sure why but the camera just did not want to focus on the brush which was really annoying but this was the best I could get. I haven't used this brush yet as I don't fill in my eyebrows with powder or gel. After feeling this brush it felt like a very good brush that would distribute eyebrow powder/gel nicely.

That is it for this post! I really, really, really hope you enjoyed reading it and I hope you like the new layout of my blog! I downloaded a template on line and I really like how it looks so far. Obviously it is not finished as it is very white so I am hoping to add colour into it very soon but I did try to add a picture behind the title of my blog but everything went funny and I don't know what went wrong; I am guessing that the picture was too big? I am not too sure. Anyway, if you did enjoy, make sure to subscribe to my blog and follow me on bloglovin'.

Lots of love,
